From the Desk of the President – David Cabral – 2016

Welcome runners to Fort Worth, Welcome runners starting a running program. Welcome members back to another exciting year of races.

Welcome Fort Worth runners!

Runners are everywhere! We see them in malls and grocery store ready to run! Well there dressed to at least. Who knows… hey, those people could be doing some needed shopping before getting in those few miles.

That’s where your running club fits your life style. Please inhance your club by sharing your knowledge of places to train and people to run with.  Share the excitement of your running.

The new year is upon us and we (The Fort Worth Runners Club) are here for you beginners as well as you competitors. I am excited about our new schedule for 2016. We hope to see all our members and friends out to as many of our events as possible. We are trying to bring most of our runs to Pavilion #1 in Trinity Park.

Your club is strong and with a new board we are ready to go. A big plus to our team is 1st VP position (incharge of membership)Olivia Balandran. She is a experienced and she will do a great job. Karen Toomer is the exiting VP and did a great job for her two terms. We still have Karen and Lynn Toomer to give us support Karen is very experienced and has skills of marketing and lets not forget her culenary skills…. yum. Tammy-Jo Parker step down as a board member, she has been a very special friend to all of us and her work with the club was top notch. We will miss her… and of course she will be asked to come to our events for fun. Kelly Schroeder though not a board member continues to work as a data entry volunteer. She continues to add the new members to our growing list.

Besides a great team of professionals we have an outstanding set of sponsors and volunteers supporting us. We just could not function without those important individuals. Please consider helping us when you can. Yes I am reaching out to each and everyone to help at least once a year. Give back, it feels great!

Run safe and…Run Happy!
